With our second edition we explore “Failure” in its many shapes and forms. When we discussed it with contributors initially it was being thought of as a purely negative concept, but the further we delved the more interesting outlooks we found. I feel it is important to have a theme with independent magazines, as we rely heavily on external submissions and having a theme helps keep the vision and voice of each issue quite clear. With each theme they are all feelings and processes that everyone can empathise with, and I feel clarifying them helps draw out people’s creative outputs. What I enjoy the most about the themes is that they don’t have to be so literal, often the answer can be so simple.
